
2008 PIN Moose Hunt Auction Details
Bid Receipt Deadline: July 1, 2008
The Penobscot Indian Nation will auction three (3) moose permits to applicants who submit the highest bids through a written bid process (bid booklet / form). An applicant must submit the permit auction form along with a nonrefundable $25 bidding fee. There is a minimum bid of $2,000. Each person awarded a permit must pay the bid amount (in U.S. funds through check, money order, bank note or credit card) within 10 days after the permit is awarded. The highest bidder will have first choice in selecting a hunting district located on Penobscot Indian Nation land. If a permit winner wants to hunt with a subpermittee, that person must be designated within the 10 day response period.
Moose Hunting Information
Season Dates: October 6, 2008-October 10, 2008
Area Open to Hunting: Hunting will occur exclusively on Penobscot Indian Nation land located within WMDs 5, 10, 18, and 19. Click here for our nation land map.
Who May Hunt: Only holders of a valid moose hunting permit and their subpermittees may hunt moose. Permit holders must be accompanied by a licensed Penobscot Indian guide for the duration of the hunt. The bag limit is one moose per permit holder. It may be shot by either the permittee or subpermittee.
How to Submit a Moose Permit Bid
General Instructions: Bids must be submitted on the standard bid form and in the manner prescribed in the bid booklet.
Bidding Deadline: Bids must be received at the Penobscot Nation Department of Natural Resources, (Attention: Moose Auction), 12 Wabanaki Way, Indian Island, ME 04468 no later than 4:00pm Eastern Time on July 1, 2008.
Fees: A nonrefundable bid fee of $25 in U.S. funds must accompany each bid.
